The GeForce RTX 5070 is an NVIDIA graphics card from the Blackwell generation, sold as a Founders Edition and as partner cards from companies such as ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte. The photo and the button on this page are one specific card: the ASUS Prime, model PRIME-RTX5070-12G. That is the non-OC Prime, not the OC part PRIME-RTX5070-O12G. ASUS lists it as a 2.5-slot card about 304 mm long, with 12GB of GDDR7, a 16-pin power connector, and a 750W power supply recommendation. The official photo shows the triple-fan shroud. The 5070 model number is not printed on the fan, so the title has to say PRIME-RTX5070-12G. It is not the RTX 5070 Ti, and it is not a laptop chip unless the listing says laptop. Black Friday grids put all of those names in one row because they share the number 5070. The card you can actually install is the one whose memory, length, and power plug match the computer you already have.

RTX 5070 Black Friday Deals 2026: The Desktop Card

The RTX 5070 is a desktop GPU with 12GB of GDDR7 memory. That 12GB figure is the line to read. The RTX 5070 Ti is a different card with 16GB. More memory helps at high resolutions and with heavy texture settings. It does not make a 12GB card fake, and it does mean you should not buy a 5070 when you had decided you needed the Ti. NVIDIA’s feature set on this generation includes DLSS 4, which is the company’s upscaling and frame-generation stack. Those features depend on the game. A card does not raise the frame rate of a title that never received the feature.

Partner cards change the cooler, the length, the noise, and sometimes the power limit. They do not change the fact that the chip is a 5070. A three-fan card and a two-fan card can both be genuine 5070s. The three-fan card may not fit a small case. Measure the case before you care which brand printed the shroud. Video outputs should be read too. A card with DisplayPort and HDMI covers a normal desktop. A listing that is vague about outputs is a listing to slow down on.

Power is the other physical fact. This generation uses the 16-pin class of connector, often described as 12V-2×6 on current cards. Your power supply needs the native cable or an adapter that came with the card, and it needs enough wattage for the whole PC, not just the GPU line on a box. A reputable supply with the right cable is part of the upgrade. A no-name adapter is how people melt connectors. If your supply is old and has no modern PCIe power to spare, the graphics card is not the only part in the purchase.

The card needs a PCIe slot on a desktop motherboard. It does not go into a laptop. Laptop GPUs with similar names are soldered or use a laptop’s own cooling. A listing titled for a laptop that then shows a desktop card, or the reverse, is the wrong product. “Desktop” or a part number you can read is the filter.

5070, 5070 Ti, and the previous generation

The 5070 Ti’s extra memory is the clean reason to step up, when you play at settings and resolutions that use it. The plain 5070 is the card for someone whose monitor and games fit 12GB and who does not want to pay for the Ti’s extra headroom. Neither statement is a benchmark from this page. It is a description of the spec difference so you do not mix the boxes.

Older RTX 4070 and 4070 Super cards remain in renewed listings. They are the previous generation. They can be a fine used buy if the price and the seller make sense to you on the day. They are not a 5070 that someone labeled loosely. DLSS feature support and the encoder generation differ across those families. If a listing will not say 4070 or 5070 clearly, do not guess from a photo of a black cooler. Every recent NVIDIA card looks like a black cooler.

Founders Edition cards are NVIDIA’s own cooler design. Partner cards are everyone else’s. Both can be new and genuine. A “blower” or a compact partner card is a legitimate fit for a small case and a poor fit if you wanted the quietest possible card. Pick the cooler for the case, then confirm the chip underneath is the 5070 and not a 5060 or a 5070 Ti.

Workstation cards and data-center boards sometimes appear in the same search because they say NVIDIA. They do not use GeForce drivers in the same way and they are often a bad idea in a gaming PC. If the title does not say GeForce RTX 5070, you are not looking at this product.

Black Friday buying advice

Write down three constraints from the computer you have. The free length in the case, in millimeters. The power supply’s wattage and whether it has the new GPU cable. The monitor’s resolution, because a 1080p display and a 4K display do not ask the same things of a 12GB card. Then shop a 5070 that fits those constraints. A faster name that does not fit the case is a return.

Buy new from a seller with a clear warranty when you can. Graphics cards are a common target for returns and for swapped coolers in sloppy marketplaces. A renewed card can be fine if the seller stands behind it. Test it with a game you know, and look at temperatures, before the window closes. A card that crashes or whines in a way the listing hid is not a seasonal win.

Ignore bundles that add a random game coupon and a cheap mousepad as if they changed the silicon. A game code is nice when you wanted the game. It does not add memory. Also ignore any article, including this one, that quotes a discount as if it were stable. It is not. The 12GB GDDR7 5070 is the product. The offer is whatever the listing says today.

Drivers come from NVIDIA’s app or website after you install the card. You do not need a driver disc. You do need to remove the old card’s power cables carefully and seat the new one fully. A half-seated PCIe card is a common reason a new GPU “doesn’t work” on the first night. That is installation, not a defective chip.

Before you check the live offer

Buy an RTX 5070 if you want this Blackwell desktop card, you have confirmed 12GB is the memory you meant, and the cooler fits the case and the power supply. Buy the 5070 Ti if you already decided you wanted 16GB. Buy nothing from a title that will not say which of those it is.

Black Friday is a reasonable week to upgrade a desktop you have already measured. It is a bad week to discover the card is an inch too long after the box is open. Read GeForce RTX 5070, read 12GB, read the length, and then look at the live offer.
